Experian launches credit management Web site

Credit referencing agency Experian has entered the US consumer market with the launch of an online credit management and credit education Web site, in partnership with Encore Marketing International.

CreditExpert.com features a suite of online credit solutions including secure online access to personal credit reports, credit scores, premium credit management and monitoring services and a variety of financial tools and educational content to help consumers understand, monitor and manage their personal credit.

The site is to be managed by the two companies' new joint venture Credit Expert. "We've been actively pursing the best way to move into a direct-to-consumer role and Encore is a tremendous partner. Together, we are delivering services allowing consumers to play a more active role in managing their personal finances," says Steve Krenzer, chief operating officer of Experian's e-commerce solutions business unit and chief executive officer of Credit Expert.

Through the Web site, Credit Expert will offer a subscription to its new Credit Manager service. Members will have unlimited access to their credit report and credit score, as well as personalised interactive tools to help them understand, manage and improve their credit.

Credit Manager customers will also receive instant e-mail notifications when changes are made to their credit file, providing an early warning of identity theft or fraudulent activity. Members can initiate an investigation online of inaccurate or incomplete information of their credit report, and track the progress through the final results of the investigation.

An annual subscription to Credit Manager is priced at $79 per year.

Additional CreditExpert.com services will be launched throughout the year, including an electronic registration and protection service for debit/credit cards and other in-wallet consumer information.
