The crowdfunding Website opened up for pre-registration in Mondo's new fund raising campaign at 12pm Monday, and promptly disappeared from view as investors piled in.

Crowdcube posted its own message to apologise to potential investors over the breakdown in service.

The message failed to placate frustrated users, who promptly dubbed Mondo "the new Glastonbury", in a reference to the usual server issues that plague the UK music festival when ticket go online.

Some privileged investors did manage to get in ahead of the crowd.
