Shares in Heartland Payment Systems soared 12.7% on Thursday on media reports of a potential takeover by rival Global Payments.
A deal between the two American payment processors could be announced this month, according to Bloomberg, citing sources. Neither firm is commenting.
Heartland shares were up $9.89, or 12.7%, in afternoon trading, while Global Payment also saw it stock rise, $2.35, or 3.4%, on the speculation.
