Goldman Sachs will not release its third quarter earnings report through Business Wire, instead posting the results on its website and through Twitter, according to Reuters.
A source has told Reuters that Goldman has decided that it wants to have more control over the release of its financial information when Q3 numbers are published next week.
The decision to ditch Business Wire comes after Warren Buffet's press release distribution service emerged as a victim of hackers who stole yet-to-be published press releases containing financial information.
In August, the Department of Justice charged nine people with hacking Business Wire, Marketwired and PR Newswire, stealing more than 150,000 releases and using them to make trades that netted some $30 million in illegal profits.
