Twitter has teamed up with Square to let Americans donate to presidential candidates through the social network.
Ahead of tomorrow's Republican debate, the partners are offering candidates the chance to turn expected Twitter chatter into cold cash.
Campaigns can sign up for an account through the Square cash site and then tweet a unique $Cashtag URL to request donations. Tweets can then hit the 'contribute' button, select the amount to hand over and, the first time of asking, add their debit card information.
Politicians from Hillary Clinton to Donald Trump have tapped into Twitter to engage with voters and win support, and some dozen presidential campaigns have already signed up for the new service, according to the New York Times.
