The Malaysian bank has teamed up with the country's largest accelerator, 1337 Ventures, to run the programme, which will pick 20 startups to demo their innovations at the bank's headquarters in Kuala Lumpur in June.

Startups who make the cut will join a three-day 'idea validation' bootcamp from June 13 to 15 before making a three-minute pitch to top Maybank executives and VCs on June 16.

The most promising ideas will be invited to undertake a three-month onboarding and pilot testing phase with the bank, with a view to eventual adoption and roll-out.
