Core banking vendor Misys has developed a bank-to-consumer marketing app prototype for the Apple Watch.
The Misys FusionBanking Essence BankTime app is designed to give consumers greater control and clarity of their personal finances.
The vendor has used Apple’s “Glance” feature - a Glance is a quick view of the app's most important content - to show a consumer’s available balance, with the ability to drill down into the transaction history for context. It also encourages the customer to use the Watch's ability to respond to voice commands and swipe and tap interactions to execute transactions, such as paying for a bill at a restaurant.
Banks can use the app to notify customers of fraud alerts, discount deals and appointment reminders and take account of a customer's location to fine-tune the offerings.
The app is the latest addition to the vendor's 'Essence Digital' portfolio, which includes modules for online and mobile banking, personal financial management, gamification and digital sales.
