Run by BMW with Sixt, DriveNow has a fleet of more than 2800 BMW and Mini vehicles and 35000 users in cities in the US, UK, Germany and Austria.

Once registered, users reserve a car through an app or website and then access it through the app or with an ID card. They are billed automatically by the minute.

The deal with MasterCard means that users do not need ID or the app to access their vehicle, identifying themselves by holding the contactless card to a sensor in the windscreen and then using it to pay for their journey.
