United California Bank (UCB) has licensed Brokat's EJB/J2EE-based corporate banking product for the first phase of WebDirect, its commercial Internet banking service.
Under the agreement, the bank will have access to a full array of Brokat software, including Brokat's Financial Framework infrastructure, information reporting, stop payment, account transfer, wire transfer, ACH, positive pay, and other functionality.
Michael Dalen, general manager, financial applications business unit, Brokat, comments: "Using Brokat's product, United California Bank will be able to meet the needs of its important corporate banking customers through reliable Internet access to critical cash management functions while eliminating the distribution and maintenance hassles of costly PC client software."
UCB has planned a phased approach to integrate Brokat's front-end commercial Internet banking solution with UCB's back-office systems, including DDA accounting, imaging systems and the bank's various payment processing systems.
Brokat's software uses XML-based, application programming interfaces (APIs) and a modular plug-and-play-type interface to support batch and online real-time interfaces to the various back-office systems. This simplifies future changes and additions to those interfaces and provides a solid foundation to quickly offer new services, says the company.
