Omgeo, the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC)/Thomson Financial joint venture company, has appointed Goldman Sachs managing director of global operations Bradley Abelow to the board.

Abelow is head of global operations for Goldman Sachs and is based in New York. Prior to assuming this position in March 2000, he was responsible for operations, technology and finance in Asia (excluding Japan), based in Hong Kong. Abelow has also worked for the firm in operations administration and general services.

Abelow becomes the sixth financial services industry representative to serve on Omgeo's board of directors.

He joins Alexander Lamont, formerly director of international operations and control for the equity trading department of FMR; Jürgen Marziniak, chief executive officer, global securities services at Deutsche Bank; Eileen Murray, chief administrative officer, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter's international securities group; Thomas Perna, senior executive vice president, The Bank Of New York; and Diane Schueneman, senior vice president, Merrill Lynch Investment Managers.

Omgeo's board also includes two representatives each from DTCC and Thomson Financial. Representing the DTCC are Jill Considine, DTCC chairman and CEO, and Robert McGrail, DTCC managing director of new business ventures. Representing Thomson Financial are Pat Tierney, president and chief executive officer of Thomson Financial, and Sharon Rowlands, chief operating officer of Thomson Financial.
