The bank says it will deploy the Oracle E-Business Suite, including Oracle Financials and Oracle Human Resources Management System (HRMS). Its goal is to optimise its workforce, increase operational efficiencies, profitability, customer interaction and satisfaction.

Chris Matten, chief financial officer, OCBC Bank, says: "By integrating the backbone financial processes of the bank - accounting, human resources and management information - on a single platform, we will be able to respond much faster to the needs of our business divisions and of the marketplace.

"This marks another of the bank's goals towards becoming a full-fledged 'click and mortar' financial institution."

OCBC has retained the management consulting services of PricewaterhouseCoopers alongside Oracle to help implement this initiative.
