Electronic trading and brokerage giant Instinet has hired Bank of America Merrill Lynch's Tony Necakov as chief technology officer.
Necakov was most recently responsible for BAML's global equities high touch trading technology group.
In a 20 year career, he has also held senior trading tech roles at Bear Stearns, Swiss Bank and Goldman Sachs and Instinet, to where he now returns.
Says Necakov: "For over four decades Instinet has rightfully been associated with trading technology excellence, as its platform has remained at the industry's vanguard despite persistent and seismic shifts in market structures globally.
"I'm very excited to be rejoining Instinet at this point in the firm's history, and am eager to begin working with the extremely talented team already in place."
