The 'Web for Everyone' programme will bring together big firms from industries such as banking and tech to run digital skills training workshops led by Free:Formers.

Marking the 25th anniversary of the Web, the partners say that the programme will inspire people to not only get online, but to understand how to write code and build the Web for themselves.

Ashok Vaswani, chief executive, Barclays Retail and Business Banking, says the campaign "helps people learn valuable, transferable skills like coding and Web development which are increasingly essential in any industry, whether it be fashion, finance or even farming".

The first event of the campaign saw tech talent and fashionistas putting their skills to the test at a hands-on workshop to coincide with the build up to London Fashion Week.

Models Portia Freeman, BB Kaye and Stephanie Rad joined forces with six 18 to 25 year olds from the Prince's Trust to compete create their own fashion-focused apps.
