Working with partner Carvajal Tecnología y Servicios, Ingenico will deploy its iWB 220 biometric payment device in Colombia and the Dominican Republic.

The devices will be used to identify low-income people via their fingerprints in bank branches so that they can withdraw government benefits.

Carlos Manuel Pérez, CEO, Carvajal Tecnología y Servicios, says: "Approved family members are the only ones able to withdraw the funds, and the government is assured that the benefit is being paid to the right person."
