Following pilots begun late last year in Austin, Texas, and Salt Lake City, Utah, the Isis venture - owned by AT&T Mobility, T-Mobile USA and Verizon Wireless - says it is now finally nearly ready for a full roll out across the US.

Jamba Juice has thrown its weight behind the system, rolling out NFC terminals with Isis' proprietary SmartTap technology at its sites throughout the country.

Up to a million customers with an NFC-enabled handset, a special SIM from AT&T, T-Mobile or Verizon Wireless, and the Isis app, will be able to tap to get a free smoothie.

Michael Abbott, CEO, Isis, says: "The Million Free Smoothie Giveaway provides a powerful incentive for consumers to experience the simplicity and convenience of mobile commerce."

I hope that is not the case of "one millions flies can't be wrong" - inspired by "HOPING to ENTICE". Imagine Apple doing the same to entice consumers to buy iPhones. Talk about value proposition...
