Through the Hungarian Mobile Wallet Association, Magyar Telekom, Vodafone, Telenor, OTP Bank, MasterCard and the SuperShop loyalty programme have come together to build the MobilTarca digital wallet.

The group will give around 2000 members of the public a SIM and NFC-enabled handset for the six month pilot, with OTP Bank issuing debit cards over the air.

Participants will then be able to make low value contactless purchases at MasterCard PayPass terminals and collect and redeem loyalty point through their phones at retailers, including Spar and Obi, which are part of the SuperShop programme.
