IT giant SAP has launched a contest for American financial engineering university students, inviting them to pitch technology ideas that will help shape the future of capital markets.
SAP says that the 'designing tomorrow's capital markets' competition will offer students from major financial engineering schools around the US the chance to develop their ideas for business and technology innovations.
Submissions can be made from this autumn, with sample categories including alpha generation, risk management and market and reference data, as well as social impact and sentiment analytics and the cloud.
Winners will get to participate in a design-thinking workshop with experts from participating capital markets firms and SAP in New York. Finalists will also have the opportunity to present their ideas at the SAP Sapphire Now conference in 2014.
