Led by managing director Holger Wohlenberg, the unit will provide market data and services to the capital markets, as well as front office data, issuer data and back office data.

In addition, a COO data and services section will support IT heads at financial market participants, while venue services targets the exchange's fellow market operators.

"By housing these five key areas under one division, we adopt a more targeted approach to delivering top quality and reliable data and information services that address specific user needs," says Wohlenberg.

The unit is part of the larger IT, market data and analytics operations division formed last year and run by new CIO Hauke Stars.

By pooling all data and tech activities, the firm hopes to extend its client reach and service offering, sell its trading systems to other exchanges as well as punt its business process offering, general IT operations and network services.

Says Stars: "We look forward to expanding our product and service offerings to further benefit the global investment and trading community."
