Nationwide Building Society's online and mobile banking services fell over last night for the second time this week.

Nationwide customers hit by second outage this week

Customers were unable to access their accounts online or through Nationwide's mobile app yesterday evening, although ATMs were running normally.

Services were restored by this morning but customers on Twitter were left fuming by the outage which followed a similar incident on Tuesday.

Tweeters called the IT meltdown a joke, while more than one also objected to the way in which they were informed:
