UK retail giant Marks & Spencer is preparing to trial an in-store mobile payments app called Paddle, according to the Independent.

From next month visitors to some M&S coffee shops will be able to scan codes on menus with their smartphone cameras to pick and pay for their items from their tables.

If popular, the system - which is based on the independently developed Paddle app - could be rolled out nationally, says the Independent.
