Once they've linked their Dwolla and Twitter accounts, users can send funds with a tweet including the recipient's handle, the dollar amount they want to transfer and the hashtag #dwolla.
In a blog post, the firm says the new feature - which requires recipients to have a Dwolla account - "makes it easy to send money to friends, nonprofits or even merchants without having to login to the Dwolla mobile app".
The system is similar to Chirpify, which links users' Twitter and PayPal accounts, letting businesses, shoppers and donors send money with a tweet.
