Crowdfunding site Kickstarter will launch in the UK at the end of the month, providing a platform for Brits to raise funds for projects.
Launched in the US in 2009, Kickstarter is a funding platform where anyone with an idea can pitch it to potential investors. Over $350 million has been pledged by more than 2.5 million people.
It is now opening up to its first market outside of America, enabling people with a UK address and bank account to start building their projects now ready to launch from 31 October.
Although UK projects will be listed in pounds sterling, they will appear with alongside their US counterparts and be open to pledges from anywhere in the world. If pitches are successfully funded, Kickstarter gets a five per cent fee.
