WyWallet, the mobile wallet joint venture from Telia, Tele2, Telenor and 3 has been launched with support for person-to-person money transfers, SMS transit and ticketing payments, and online shopping. Live tests of POS payments using NFC are set to start in July, with full-scale roll-out scheduled for 2013.

Using technology from local vendor Accumulate, WyWallet is available on Android, iPhone, and Java with support for Windows-powered handsets pending.

The joint venture is going head to head with P2P mobile payments startup Swish, which is backed by Nordea and five other banks and will launch in the autumn.
