The International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) is calling for the creation of a commodity OTC derivatives trade repository by January.
The group has issued a request for proposals (RFP) as it bids to improve transparency in the market by establishing a repository that will ultimately record all commodity OTC derivatives trade types, with a start date of January 2012.
IDSA says it wants one global, centralised reporting repository for all commodities but that if this is not feasible there should be no more than one for each.
The repository will "meet all current and future regulations governing repositories and will provide a structure to rapidly report and provide timely access to information to applicable regulators".
Interested providers have until 25 April to submit their proposals. You can read the RFP here.
