Rosenthal Collins brought a suit against TT several years ago in a bid to invalidate the latters patent and was then hit with a counter-claim. TT has been involved in a number of suits related to its MD Trader product.

According to Crain's Chicago Business, US District Judge Sharon Johnson Coleman has now found that a witness wiped clean computer disks that were evidence in the case and "misrepresented" his actions to the court.

The judge fined Rosenthal Collins $1 million and granted default judgement to Trading Technologies.
