Samlink signs IT services deal with IBM

IBM has signed a new five-year, EUR28 million agreement with Samlink to manage the information technology (IT) infrastructure for the company's more than 400 bank branch offices across Finland.

Under the contract, IBM will manage overall IT operations and internal workstations for Samlink and its banking clients including self-service kiosks, wireless networks, workstation and maintenance, desktop, servers, and printers.

IBM is also to develop a new cloud-based learning environment to provide online training programmes for Samlink's Finnish banking clients.

The latest deal follows a EUR55 million data centre transfer contract between the two companies inked in November last year.
