Barclaycard has teamed with UK Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) accounting firm KashFlow to pilot an e-invoicing service for merchants.
According to TechCrunch Europe, Barclaycard is running a trial with 100 merchant customers to test the KasFlow-based system for creating, sending and managing invoices through a Web browser.
Participants can also track late transactions and receive payments via the Barclaycard gateway, for which the firm charges a three per cent fee.
The card outfit is waiving the £15.99 as month fee KashFlow normally charges for the pilot, which TechCrunch says could run for up to 12 months ahead of a full scale roll out.
Barclaycard has confirmed to Finextra that it is running the trial but is not providing any further details at this stage.
