NetX360 is already available for the iPhone, BlackBerry and Windows Mobile devices, enabling investment professionals and advisors to trade equities and mutual funds, review order status, access their clients' accounts, balance information and investment holdings from their handsets. It will come to Android phones later this year.

The Bank of New York Mellon unit's tool also lets users access smart workflow functionality to keep track of various tasks and view statements and other investor documents.

Suresh Kumar, CIO, Pershing, says: "Increasingly, financial professionals and advisors are turning to mobile devices to better support a wide range of business needs. The availability of NetX360 on the Apple iPad will provide our customers with the ability to access all of our capabilities no matter where they are, and provides them with the same level of security and encryption as their desktop NetX360 application."
