Potential returns on investment identified by Abbey National include savings in staff time, office space, server storage space, consulting spend, paper use and recruitment costs. Mobile project team collaborations will also be supported by Intranet-based access to Documentum's iTeam knowledge sharing and collaboration software.

Mac Millington, formerly group IT director and now managing director of Abbey National's B2C division, says the content managment system will be used to introduce new ways of pooling and sharing know-how across the group.
