Caramanli joins UBS from Morgan Stanley where he founded and lead the high profile development of the Matrix dealer portal, built using rich internet application technologies.

According to an internal memo obtained by Finextra, much like his previous role at Morgan Stanley, Caramanli will lead the effort to develop a single cross-Investment Bank online client platform that is due to be part of UBS' over-all business strategy. The platform will bring together pricing, execution, analytics, research and post trade downstream services in one accessible client offering.

He will report to Roberto Hoornwegm Global head of Securities and Ruwan Weerasekera COO for the Securities businesses.

According to another internal memo obtained by Finextra, Caramanli initially joined Simon Wilson-Taylor, co-head of the e-Commerce team, who joined UBS from State Street Global Link last year, and will report to FICC global head Fabian Shey.

This cross-asset client platform project at UBS is led by Weerasekera.
