San Francisco-based Providian Financial has merged its e-commerce products and services under GetSmart, an online financial services marketplace that gives consumers single-point access to a variety of products and tools from more than 100 independent financial service providers.
Initially launched by a group of Silicon Valley investors as a credit card and mortgage marketplace, the site now offers an account aggregation feature called Daily View, online bill paying, mortgages, second and home equity loans, auto loans, credit cards, money market accounts, certificates of deposits and business financial products. Additionally, GetSmart has just launched its own branded smart card, The GetSmart Visa card.
Lauri Kober, GetSmart CEO, says: "GetSmart consolidates access to Providian's e-commerce products and other competitive products and services under a single brand and integrated Website."
GetSmart was purchased by Providian Financial in 1999.
