The Smart Band RFID system will see adult guests at the Great Wolf Lodge resort in North Carolina, given wristbands that can be used to make payments when tapped against specially equipped terminals.

The bands can be used at food and beverage concessions, vending and token machines, gift shops, and restaurants. Guests also user the wristbands instead of keys and cards to enter their rooms.

Users can charge payments using the wristbands directly to their rooms or set up a pre-funded account for purchases, using a credit card.

Phillip Cunningham, Great Wolf Lodge, says: "While in a waterpark, no one wants the burden of carrying money or credit cards. PDC's RFID System helps us deliver the cashless convenience to our guests and improve their overall experience."

The North Carolina site is the seventh Great Wolf Resort to roll out the wristbands.
