Finextra50 closes up 2.2% to 65.56

The Innovation Group bounced back from market disappointment at another failed bid attempt with news that first half revenue and pre-tax profit were up. Its shares rose 30.3% in a shortened trading week, while Bravura Solutions and Gresham Computing also posted significant gains.

Gainers

The Innovation Group was among the index's biggest gainers last week. The volatile stock of the insurance software vendor closed Thursday up 30.30% 6.45p after the company said that despite recent board changes and another aborted bid attempt for the company, its first half revenue and adjusted pretax profit increased and that it has a strong pipeline of orders.

In a steady week for global markets only two companies fell more than 5%: Temenos Group, which dropped 7.75% to CHf11.90 and Microgen, which fell to 5.56% to 51p.
