The insurer says its OLP Connect system provides advisers with real time visibility, enabling them to track the progress of applications at all times. Staff can also quote and apply for up to 40 protection products on one application.

The system is being rolled out in phases with various partners throughout 2009. The initial user group included LifeSearch and Direct Life & Pensions, and it is now available to the rest of the IFA market.

Bernie Hickman, MD, protection, Legal & General, says OLP Connect represents a major investment from the company, opening up the back office system to advisers to make their lives easier.

"Everything about the system is designed to make doing business with us simpler, faster, more efficient and with a greater degree of visibility and control. For the first time, advisers will be able to log in to monitor and progress applications without having to keep phoning us up," says Hickman.
