The vendor's RA-Professional engine - which is written in C# for the Microsoft .Net environment and can run on Windows, Linux, Unix or Mac OS X operating systems - will be used by the LSE in the development of an optional FIX 5.0 interface to TradElect.

The exchange says the introduction of FIX access will enable a new group of users to access its markets and provide existing members with more flexibility.

"We look forward to working with the LSE in this and accelerating and facilitating future trades," says Toby Corballis, CEO, Rapid Addition.

The FIX engine is one of a number of TradElect upgrades outlined by the exchange last June. At the time it said it expected the interface, along with a Fast protocol-based streaming data broadcasting channel for Infolect, to be launched early this year.
