The UK bank is to use TargetSelect to track loan proposals from receipt of application through underwriting to completion or rejection and TargetCentrac to manage all loan accounts from ongoing administration and interest calculation, to collection of repayments.

The system was implemented within fourteen weeks of signing the letter of intent. Currently hosted by Target in Cardiff, the aim is to eventually transfer all processes up to the main computer centre of Halifax in Leeds.

Simon Mosley, head of business systems, Halifax Card Services comments: "As well as being very competitive on price, the ability of Target to accommodate our time-scales made them the most attractive partner. We are currently looking to Web-enable our service and Target is integral to us being able to do this."
