Morocco's Banque Centrale Populaire (BCP) has selected technology from Toronto-based vendor Algorithmics as the basis for its enterprise-wide risk management platform.
The Algorithmics platform will be used for market risk, asset liability management, credit limits, exposure management, Basel II regulatory capital calculation and regulatory reporting.
Mohamed Karim Mounir, general manager, BCP, says "The Algorithmics platform will capture accurate, fully integrated measures of risk at every level of the BCP group, within a single, consistent methodology - and will help us manage and allocate our risk capital more effectively."
Michael Zerbs, president and COO, Algorithmics, believes increasing interrelation between market and credit risk, credit operations and asset liability management is forcing firms to take a more holistic approach to risk management.
