Steria has won a five year deal with insurance outsourcer Capita Life & Pensions to provide offshore IT application development and support services for the company's clients.
Steria says the deal, to commence in early 2010, will enable UK-based Capita to reduce the cost and some of the risk of maintaining life and pensions policy administration.
In addition, the partnership will increase the reliability and stability of Capita's client IT applications, helping to improve customer experience and ultimately reducing the cost per policy for clients, claims the vendor.
Explaining the deal, Craig Rodgerson, IT director, Capita Life & Pensions, says: "Our overall objective was to manage our IT expenditure, so that we could offer our clients the most cost effective service possible."
