Thomson Financial acquires majority stake in Brazil's ITT

Thomson Financial has acquired an additional 60 per cent interest in Invest Tracker Tecnologia (ITT), a provider of mutual fund data, content and analytics to Brazilian institutional and retail investors.

The acquisition is in addition to an existing 20% investment made in January 2000.

ITT products and services will be rolled into Thomson Financial's Wiesenberger product suite.

Keith Jarrett, CEO of Thomson Financial Ventures, says ITT represents a get-in for Thomson Financial in the Latin American mutual fund industry. "The Brazilian market represents the tenth largest mutual fund industry in the world and the largest in Latin America as measured by assets under management," he says.
