European depository Euroclear is establishing a "project delivery services" division that will manage the generic technology operations that support its projects and programmes.
Says Wim Claeys, executive director, Euroclear: "IT is a critical enabler for Euroclear to provide robust and resilient post-trade market-infrastructure services. The new project delivery services division will help us meet the IT needs of the organisation and our clients with even greater efficiency and flexibility."
The Brussels-based firm has appointed Jan Colaes as managing director of the newly created division. He will also become a member of the Euroclear group management team.
Colaes joins Euroclear from brewing giant InBev, where he was an interim manager acting as director of global projects. He has also worked as an interim manager responsible for IT and operational functions at Swiss Life Belgium, Belgian Post Group, Fortis Investment Management, Transcom, and the European Commission.
