The bank will roll out Misys Equation Islamic Banking and Finance as it seeks to take advantage of the growing demand for Shariah-compliant facilities and services at its 395 branches in 17 Indonesian provinces.

Misys says its system, which ensures compliance with Shariah laws and principles, was chosen ahead of platforms from Temenos, Sigma and Multipolar.

Explaining the decision to choose Misys, Michael Hutabarat, director, BTPN, says: "We have seen the successful implementations of Misys' Islamic Banking and Finance solution in many other banks and, because of this track record, we are confident that we will more than satisfy our customers' Islamic Banking requirements when we launch the services this year."
