Bolsa de Valores de Colombia - the Colombia Stock Exchange - is implementing technology from California-based Tibco Software to support its integration, messaging and service-oriented architecture (SOA) initiatives.
The exchange is looking to improve its IT infrastructure and enterprise data by integrating core exchange technologies with internal and external back-end legacy systems.
Tibco says its BusinessWorks technology will link core trading platforms with back-end legacy applications and with the systems of external central counterparties, central securities depositories and brokers.
The exchange is also using Tibco's Enterprise Message Service, Ajax Message Service and Rendezvous products to create a common, open standards-based system for high performance messaging and low latency message delivery. Tibco says the combined system will help the exchange to take advantage of both service-oriented and event-driven architectures.
The exchange will also implement Tibco's PortalBuilder product, which presents a real-time, personalised views of integrated data, systems and business processes within an organisation.
Jitendra Puri, VP, IT, Colombia Stock Exchange, says: "Efficient integration between all of our distributed IT assets with local and international capital market participants is a key goal, as is the efficient movement of data from system to system within and beyond the enterprise using open standards."
"Tibco's messaging, integration and SOA solutions will help us quickly scale our trading operations in rapidly growing markets," adds Puri.
