La Caixa will roll out MX.3 to 100 staff at its treasury unit in Barcelona, who will use the system for front-to-back management of equity and interest rate derivatives, bonds, foreign exchange and money markets, forex options and credit derivatives.

Joaquin Aguirre, IT director, financial markets, La Caixa, says: "Our challenge was to be able to consolidate our treasury activity within one single solution. With Murex, we are able to handle more efficiently the most complex derivatives with the highest STP rates."

Murex says the bank will also use its credit risk system for pre- and post- trade real-time limits checking.
