Partecis - Partnership for European Card Information System - is a 50/50 joint venture estabished in 2006 and designed specifically to support retail and corporate clients of both banks across Europe following the introduction of the single euro payments area (Sepa) in 2008.

ACI says its Base24-eps software will be used to "facilitate and secure payment transactions across the Partecis platform".

The technology enables banks to acquire, authenticate, route, switch and authorise payments across multiple channels. The software supports card transactions at ATMs and point of sales, branch, telephone and Internet banking as well as mobile commerce.

Commenting on the deal, Jean-Marie Vallee, director general at Natixis Paiements - which is a partnership venture between Banque Populaire and Caisse d’Epargne - says: "Our choice of software was principally based on the speed and ease with which we could integrate it across our joint applications."

In a separate move ACI is reporting a deal with US asset management firm Mellon Financial for the supply of its Enterprise Banker software.

Mellon will use the software to consolidate its retail and commercial Web banking systems. Mellon will also use ACI's On Demand hosted service to integrate Enterprise Banker with its core portal application, offering Mellon's clients an easy-to-use single sign-on experience, says ACI.

Tim Tully, COO, private wealth management group, Mellon Financial, says: "The ability of Enterprise Banker to consolidate multiple solutions into a single product plays directly into our strategy to deliver our services more efficiently."
