New York-based Investment Technology Group (ITG) has hired Michael Green from Goldman Sachs to head its IT operations in Europe.
Green joined ITG earlier this month, where he will be leading a team of over 40 employees based in London and Dublin. He will also join ITG's European executive committee.
Previously Green spent over nine years at Goldman Sachs, with the last two years as European IT manager of client and exchange connectivity, position keeping and trade capture. He was responsible for a team of 35 at the bank and was part of the senior management group for equities in Europe and global connectivity.
Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, Michael spent four years at PriceWaterhouseCoopers as an IT consultant.
Green replaces Ronen Kertis who will be relocating to Israel to become general manager of ITG's Tel Aviv office where the development of the vendor's European software is centred.
ITG has also recruited Daniel Shaw from Goldman Sachs. Shaw has a brief to create and head up an execution management function in Europe that services clients who self-direct their own business using ITG's tools.
During his eight years at Goldman Sachs Shaw held a number of roles, primarily in the institutional equities trading business. He was most recently an executive director of within the bank's REDI+ electronic transaction services division responsible for sales, direct market access and algorithmic trading.
Other ITG hires include Matthew Paré, who joined in January to spearhead sales of client site products.
Paré joined from Royalblue Financial, where he was head of sales for the Fidessa EMS to the buy-side community. Prior to Fidessa, Paré spent three years at Easybroker as head of product development and institutional sales and before that was involved in business development for Nasdaq Europe.
