Yodlee, a US provider of online bill payment and account aggregation technology, has developed a mobile banking and payments platform.
The vendor says its Yodlee Mobile package will enable fiancial services firms to introduce mobile banking services to customers.
Yodlee says the technology is suitable for all financial institutions in the US, Canada, and the UK that offer Web banking services and banks using the system could launch a mobile banking pilot in less than a week.
After securely logging-in to the application, consumers can view account balances and transactions and receive fraud monitoring alerts, bill reminders and account threshold notifications over their mobile handsets.
When linked to Yodlee MoneyCenter, the mobile service also will support bill payments and funds transfers, says the vendor.
"Yodlee Mobile enables financial institutions to increase adoption and usage of online banking applications," says Peter Hazlehurst, senior vice president of product development at Yodlee. "By allowing consumers to access and manage their accounts from anywhere, financial institutions can extend their brand and increase the value and frequency of customer communications."
Yodlee says it already has an alliance with UK telco Vodafone and is forming similar partnerships with telcos in the US and Europe to help ensure seamless transmission of data across all wireless networks.
