US securities trading and processing firm Penson Worldwide has appointed SunGard's William McLemore to the position of senior vice president and chief technology officer.
McLemore joins Penson from SunGard Phase3, where he served as senior vice president of product development and professional services and served on the firm's operating committee.
Before joining SunGard McLemore spent five years at The Brink's Company, where he was director of software systems for global software initiatives.
Prior to this he spent eight years at Southwest Securities where he served in various technology roles including the vice president of systems development and operations.
In his new role McLemore will be responsible for the oversight of Penson's global technology initiatives. He will also have responsibilities for the technology operations of Penson Financial Services, the US clearing arm of Penson Worldwide.
