Gustavsson is currently CIO of the banking group and will take up his new role of global head, services and senior executive vice president on 1 July 2006.

He joined ABN Amro in July 2001 as global head of technology for the bank's wholesale clients business unit. Whilst in that role, Gustavsson oversaw the banks first global IT outsourcing initiative.

Prior to ABN Amro Gustavsson held a number of positions ranging from front to back office for banks, regulators and corporates in various countries.
