GlobalCommerce and TC TrustCenter enter Identrus pact

GlobalCommerce and TC TrustCenter have entered a transatlantic alliance to offer Identrus digital identity services combined with online post-procurement business applications.

The alliance joins GlobalCommerce CERTfi online authentication solution and TradeServer platform for post-procurement business applications - including guarantees, invoicing, financing, disputes and payment - with TC TrustCenter's public key infrastructure (PKI)-based transaction processing, and certificate issuance capabilities.

The partners say a primary goal of the alliance is to provide financial institutions with the ability to more rapidly deploy their B2B e-commerce solutions internationally.

TC TrustCenter - a joint venture between Germany's Commerzbank, Deutsche bank, HypoVereinsbank, Dresdner Bank - bills itself as Europe's first provider of PKI services within the Identrus infrastructure. Identrus is a bank-backed initiative to provide digital ID services to corporate customers.

"This synergistic approach, with TC TrustCenter and GlobalCommerce working together internationally, will greatly benefit global financial institutions joining Identrus," says Sabine Kockskaemper, managing director of TC TrustCenter. She adds that the alliance focuses its offering on both categories of Identrus financial institutions, Level I and Level II participants.

The alliance programme will be managed by Brian Muench, director of business development at GlobalCommerce, and Carsten Arndt, programme manager at TC TrustCenter.
