Bob McKinnon quits Commonwealth Bank

The Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) says Bob McKinnon, its group executive for technology services, is leaving the firm at the end of the year.

McKinnon joined the bank in 2000 from State Street Australia where he was managing director and chief executive.

Prior to this he was at property developer Lend Lease Corporation where he held a range of roles during his 18 year tenure, including chief financial officer.

He is leaving the bank to join another property developer, Multiplex, as chief financial officer and an executive director.

McKinnon was leading a A$1.5b business transformation programme at CBA aimed at cutting costs and improving customer service.

The bank says a search process would be conducted between now and the end of the year for a replacement for McKinnon.
